William Optics Zenithstar 61 Questions Video
While expanding my horizons into the astrophotography hobby, I was researching several different telescopes I was interested in. Having decided to go with the William Optics Zenithstar 61, the research intensified. I wanted to know more about how it mounted. While having years of experience with photography, I am fairly new to astrophotography. This means I didn’t have a Vixen style mounting plate, no extra screws, and other accessories to make installation and use go smoothly.
Here at Universal Observations, I like to cover the things I have had a difficult time finding or figuring out. In the video below I highlight several findings about the William Optics Zenithstar 61. This has been a great scope and I want to share my knowledge and insight about it with other potential purchasers.
The video covers:
- The rotatable L bracket (mounting threads and dimensions of spacing)
- Included Bahtinov lens cap (and potential hazard)
- The new New Adjustable Flat61 Flattener for Z61 (Mounting, spacing and rotation adjustment)
- Storage and moisture control with desiccant packets
